The Annual Ox Roast Car Show ~ Has been discontinued !
After 19 years of putting on the Ox Roast, Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show, we have made the decision to discontinue this event. We realize that many will be disappointed at this news. The family fun and entertainment it has provided for nearly two decades for countless people will be sorely missed. We understand as it has been a great source of memories for our church members and families too.
There are several factors that led to this very difficult decision that we will not disclose publicly at this time. We are not a large church and this event is an enormous undertaking for our congregation. Over the years, this show has grown tremendously while our congregation and its leadership are aging. Still, we have always considered it a labor of love. It has been a blessing to have reached out to thousands upon thousands of people, to provide three days of free family entertainment, food, and even free amusement rides. We have been touched by countless stories of how families were able to enjoy a weekend of fun, who otherwise could not afford to do something like this. Most of all, we are thankful to have been used by God to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our open air church services. In each service many people, sometimes dozens, made a decision to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord.
Be assured that our decision is not in any way due to any conflict or dissatisfaction with the classic car community or the public in general. We greatly appreciate the incredible support that we have received from classic car owners across the country. We are fully aware, that without the classic cars there would never have been a show. We thank you for making our show the most successful one in its class, year after year. For all those that have helped or have been helped, we are eternally grateful.
Thank you and God Bless You,
Rev. Frank J. Glenn, Jr., Founder & Senior Pastor

Gasoline and car repairs from churches
▻http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html/gasoline_and_car_repairs_from_.html
Another source for free gasoline or car repairs is your local church, St. Vincent De Paul, or Catholic Charities parish. These groups are some of the nations largest charity organizations and the non-profit charities administer a number of financial assistance programs, counseling, case management, and more.
The exact types of services available at each site will vary. Local churches also rely heavily on donations and support from the community, so the resources available are limited. One of the services in high demand is free gasoline for critical travel and general transportation assistance. Some struggling families will also request help for repairing their automobile if it is needed for their job. From time to time St. Vincent De Paul or a local church may be able to provide gas vouchers, bus passes and tokens, car repairs, and other aid.
The charity organizations also partner with churches and religious organizations across the nation. They offer tangible financial assistance and cash to those in need. On a limited basis gas may be offered as part of the assistance provided. People seeking help will generally need to formally apply for assistance.

Car park charges “threaten” Christians, according to church leaders
▻http://www.secularism.org.uk/news/2015/01/car-park-charges-threaten-christians-according-to-church-leaders
Christian groups have responded angrily to plans by Edinburgh Council to abolish free parking on Sunday mornings. Council leaders however, have insisted that Edinburgh is a “secular city” and that churches can’t get “special treatment on parking.”
Free parking was previously capped at two hours on Sundays, with fines only coming into force after 1pm, in part because churches were said to be “very unhappy” about their parishioners having to pay for tickets.
